The festival is
held in Denver, Colorado. This year's festival will be held on
Friday, April 19, 2002 between 6PM and 11PM at The Historic Tivoli
Center, on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver.
The First Look
Student Film Festival is dedicated to showing short subjects -
films, animation, commercials, experimental projects and trailers
- that are created by college and university students. First
Look will accept for submission any short that is no more than 30
minutes in length and and any script that is between
25 and 40 pages. We will not censor. No subject is too
taboo or controversial. We value the freedom of
expression.
Our mission is
to expose student projects to the public. We're dedicated to giving
college students an outlet to show their works. As film students
ourselves, First Look understands the enormous amount of time,
effort, and expense that goes into making these student projects and
scripts. We want to provide an outlet for students to show these
projects to the public. At the same time, we want to grow
the First Look Student Film Festival into an event that not
only showcases the talents of students, but enables them to continue
down the path of learning how to write scripts and create movies
that can change the world.
This year's
short subjects and scripts will be juried by prominent members of
the film community in Denver.
